The tax in the sales module refers to the levies imposed on the sale of products or services. This can include taxes imposed by local, regional, or national governments and are usually calculated as a percentage of the sale price. The sales module is responsible for calculating the tax owed based on the tax rate and the product or service being sold, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accuracy in the calculation of taxes owed

Adding Tax

To add a Tax, Click on Settings present in the Menu.

Now click on the Tax button on the left side menu and click Add New button

The process of adding tax information to a form includes filling in the Tax Name, Category, and Rate, and selecting a Parent Tax Rate from a dropdown list if necessary.

The Summary Level must be set to Yes if there is no Parent Tax Rate or No if there is one. These steps ensure the proper calculation of taxes owed on sales.

In addition to adding Tax Name, Category, and Rate, Tax Zones must also be specified for the tax being added.

This step determines the geographical areas where the tax is applicable, contributing to accurate calculation of taxes owed on sales in different regions.
